He studied at “Academia Tárrega” in Barcelona. His teacher was Mr. Ricardo Tárrega Viladoms, an excellent landscape painter and extraordinary teacher. He made works of small format and flowers, and a great number of landscapes and sea-pieces of different coastal areas of Catalonia.
In 1946 he finished his studies as a chartered accountant. He continued studying to be an accountant teacher at “Escuela de Altos Estudios Mercantiles”, University of Barcelona. He majored in Law at the University of Barcelona and later on, in 1963 he got his degree in Business Management at IESE, University of Navarra

Nestlé Beach 1945
In the summer of 1945, he was out of Barcelona and had no canvases where to paint. He found the cover pages of a stamp album of Nestlé chocolate. It was cardboard covered with blue cloth. He managed to make a prime and concluded his first painting with success. It is the inlet of Santa Cristina (Costa Brava, Spain). Because of the origin of his “canvas” he named it Playa Nestlé (Nestlé Beach). This oil painting was sold to acquaintances of his parents’. It was recovered years later in exchange to one of his sculptures.
He pursued his painting and achieved his first sales.
