Sadness
Author’s Comment
Sadness is difficult to define as it is the feeling of no feeling at all, and it is always originated by a cause. Sadness is a feeling that both man and woman feel, but certainly because of its closeness to weakness it has a feminine constituent. Sadness doesn’t make people stand up straight. Sadness discourages, sadness weighs.
I tried to represent the idea of sadness. A face can express sadness but it is not as eloquent as the whole body.
I think the representation of a fallen body that is intuitively feminine is an accurate expression of sadness. The inclination of the upper part confirms it. I also think the idea is enhanced with the position of the right shoulder as you can see the strain. On the right of the image, the lower part also shows the effort made to endure a state of sadness.
